Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who was first noticed for her clever hip-hop raps that addressed racial and sexual identities from the most comical of perspectives. Then she moved on to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from playing the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop education began when she was just a teenager. When she was in college, she was focusing in her studies, pursuing a degree in both journalism and women's issues. For a brief period of time in Beijing She also studied Mandarin. It wasn't until after graduating that she shifted her focus on music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success over the Internet eventually landing on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also contained popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The latter track was linked to her other venture, Awkwafina's NYC guide to traveling published in 2015. A musician and an author were on her resume she began looking for acting in a third project. She's appeared in movies like Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role during the year 2018, appearing in a handful of movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
